あたたかいまち

　鎌倉から宇治を思う
　
　宇治川は、際の果て、農業や仏器が国に入り込み、社会が国形成された挙句、仏器も国も為政者も薄く虚部に河に溶けてゆく。鎌倉はそこから離れ、仏教も為政者もそこから内実を取り戻した。しかし、また明治、今に至るまで内実を失う。

　多くの外国人観光客、都会から全国からくる観光客。ここに移り住む人々。これは、キリスト教や資本主義から逃れる場所ではないか
すると鎌倉と宇治は何が違うのか。重税と治安の悪化の中で、立ち上がった鎌倉は見る影もないとも思うし。新しい動きがここに始まっているとこの8年感じていたが、少しの絶望している

　　ITとコンサル、アートの垣根がない。それを年配の人に説明してもわからない8年前、ある若手のITデザイナーが話していた
のを忘れられない。その具現化したある若手のデザイナーを目の当たりにしてようやく体で感じることが出来た。

　デザイナーの作品。そのひと自身が進化していく。最初は小さな作品のワ－クショップから始まり、人が集まり始める。デザインを知り尽くした人がワ－クショップ開催のマ－ケッチングアドバイスをグル－プワ－クショップで行い、感性を飲ましあいながら化学反応が起きる。

　多くの飲食店、ワ－キングスペース、大店舗に作品がおかれる。商店街のイベント、行政の寄付金の対価となる。

　つながりは全国に広がる。農家や地域を日本文化を体感した作品は世界の目に留まり、お金が集まり、日本の季節を織り込んだ作品は世界に売られるようになる。物のデザイン、WEBの標章的デザイン、社会デザインの枠を美しく踊る。多くのデザインの進化が続く

　宇治川の流れに太陽の光が注ぎ、輝く。デザイナーの笑顔が、浮かぶ。解体と虚無の交差点から　新しいデザインが生まれてゆく・

　そのようなデザイナーは多く鎌倉で育つている。デザイナーの意味は広がりつつある。

　この世の苦しみと不公正、経済的不平等は変わらない。だから、わたしは別のデザインを静かに考える。



　月明かりの中の優しい大三角　— 星と祈りとパン

自然の中で、宇宙の中で、また人々の中で生きている私たち。自然や人の奥深くには、祈りや哲学、そして科学を通じてたどり着ける何かがある。しかし、社会の中で「パン」がなければ、生きているとは言えない。

　月明かりの中で見つける優しい三角形、それは星と祈りとパンの大三角形。


　そのデザイナーは私をデザインしてくれないだろうか、きっと、宇治川川の対岸にあり、交わることはないのだろう。橋と船が見つかるまでは、鎌倉の喧騒を見ながら思う。

Thinking of Uji from Kamakura

The Uji River, on the edge of the country, saw agriculture and Buddhist artifacts enter the national culture, shaping society. Eventually, Buddhism, the nation, and the rulers faded, dissolving into the river’s hollow space. Kamakura, distant from that flow, reclaimed its spiritual core through Buddhism and governance. Yet, even Kamakura lost its essence again, particularly in the Meiji period, continuing to the present day.

Today, the influx of foreign tourists, visitors from urban areas, and residents relocating here raises a question: Is Kamakura an escape from capitalism and Christianity? In light of this, what sets Kamakura apart from Uji? Kamakura, once resilient in times of high taxes and social turmoil, seems to have lost that spirit. Although I've sensed new movements emerging here over the past eight years, a feeling of quiet despair lingers.

The Boundaries Between IT, Consulting, and Art

Eight years ago, I couldn’t forget a young IT designer discussing the dissolution of boundaries between IT, consulting, and art—a concept older generations struggled to understand. Recently, encountering the same designer's work, I could finally grasp it on a physical level.

The designer’s journey began with small workshops, drawing people together. An expert in design offered marketing advice during group sessions, blending insights and igniting creativity. Their pieces now adorn many cafes, workspaces, and large venues, and contribute to community events and public donations.

Connections spread nationwide. Works infused with Japanese culture and seasonal nuances capture global attention, drawing in funds and selling worldwide. This evolving blend of product, web, and social design continues to unfold beautifully.

As sunlight shines on the Uji River, illuminating its flow, I see the designer's smile, and from the crossroads of dismantling and nothingness, new design emerges. Many designers like this thrive in Kamakura, redefining what it means to be a designer.

The Gentle Triangle Under Moonlight – Stars, Prayer, and Bread

Living amidst nature, within the universe, and among people, there’s something deep within—prayers, philosophy, and scientific discoveries—that we can reach. Yet, without “bread” in society, can we truly say we are alive?

In the gentle triangle under the moonlight lies the triangle of stars, prayer, and bread.

Would such a designer design me? Surely, across the Uji River, we may never cross paths, until a bridge or boat is found. I reflect on Kamakura’s bustling life from this perspective.
